Ode to the Inventive Chipmunk by Blair Gaulton

Ode to the Inventive Chipmunk
Chipmunk springs;
scouring through the English garden;
in search of food and fun.
Lo and behold!
A slice of bread;
there for the taking.
Forges forth;
goes underneath;
eats a hole in the middle.
Puts head through;
now wearing a bread necklace.
Eyes a’ twinkle
in the sun.
Bounds away;
I’d swear the chipmunk had a smile.
What a sight!
I dedicate this to the chipmunk;
who made me laugh, and smile;
on this beautiful day!

Ducks’ Discussion 2 by Blair Gaulton

Ducks’ Discussion 2
Out for a stroll;
enjoying the weather,
in spite of it not being so warm.
Some ducks are asleep;
others are talking about;
Where’s the warmth and the heat?Patience, says one, to the others;
it’s early in the new day;
wait and see what will come our way.
