From the Sea to the Shore by Blair Gaulton

From the Sea to the Shore
I am unsure;
if I will reach the shore;
as I fight the storm.
Trying to steer;
against the unhinged wind;
‘n’ avoid the hungry jagged reefs.
One wrong turn;
can bring death;
not defeat.
I will fight on;
not retreat.
If I make it ashore;
‘n’ be blessed to hold you once more;
I will look into your eyes
‘n’ tell you
I love you!

This poem is based on a true story told to me by my grandfather.
