Another poem inspired by this weeks prompt.

Lost in the Fierce Winter Night
Snow scalds;
riveting body with quivers
and shivers.
As we gouge our way through;
searching for our camp
in the oncoming gloom.
Bored wind snaps
suddenly vicious.
Trying to drown us in snow;
as we go.
No chance to get back anymore;
We have to build an Igloo fast.
If we do not want;
this night to be our last.
We built it wrong;
the wind blew it down.
It was cold;
we had to keep moving and talking;
to each other to stay awake;
until daybreak.
Otherwise we would not survive.
Through the storm we rambled;
clambered until we could go no more.
Pushed each other;
fighting with the storm;
to keep warm.
A crack of light in the sky
Daylight will be here by and by.
On we went;
past our points of no return;
We started to have;
fata morgana moments in the snow.
We no longer knew;
what was real or not.
Suddenly we heard a shout;
people were there.
Saved!
