Winter’s Toll by Blair Gaulton

Winter’s Toll
Ocean rolls
wind yo-yoing
as the men face the gale
ship ploughing through
only thing they can do
is survive or sink
against winter’s toll.

The Vacuum Cleaner Symphony by Blair Gaulton

The Vaccum Cleaner Symphony
Suddenly woke up one night.
Heard something unusal
for that time of night.
It wasn’t loud karaoke radio stereo computer TV or Mp3.
The neighbour was composing a symphony above me;
using the vaccum cleaner
in diverse rhythms speeds and tones
with an disjointed trombone
and a xylophone.
I was starting to get into a groove
then it suddenly stopped.
I could tell by the loud knocks
someone called the cops.
That was the end of the vacuum cleaner symphony.

To You Nan by Blair Gaulton

To You Nan
When I see the sun
I think of you
how you made us laugh
with your stories
and your creativity come through.
The characters you created
with voices and attitudes
made them come alive.
The memories of those moments
live deep inside
my heart.
Such fun you had
doing that.
Thank you for being you!
You are an inspiration to me.
You are missed and loved.
